Counter-UAS RF Modules: Buyer FAQ

Straight answers for system integrators specifying drone countermeasure hardware.

What frequency bands do drones use that a countermeasure module must cover?

Modern UAV links spread across 400-500 MHz (433 MHz-class control), 700-1020 MHz (868/915 MHz LoRa), 2400-2500 MHz (2.4 GHz control and video), 5150-5850 MHz (5.2/5.8 GHz HD video), 6700-6900 MHz (new C6 HD FPV band) and 1164-1610 MHz (GNSS L1/L2/L5 navigation). A serious defense package covers control + video + navigation simultaneously.

What is the difference between GaN and LDMOS jammer modules?

GaN-on-SiC transistors deliver higher efficiency and power density — the right choice for battery-powered handheld, backpack and vehicle platforms. LDMOS costs less and performs well in mains-powered fixed installations where weight is secondary. Our family offers both under one mechanical standard.

Should I choose a 50 W or 100 W module?

50 W classes optimize runtime and cooling in portable systems; 100 W classes extend standoff distance for vehicle and fixed-site use. Multi-band guns routinely mix both — e.g., 50 W for 400/2400 MHz stages carried by an operator, 100 W for the 5.8 GHz video stage on a vehicle.

What is a C-UAS RF module?

It is the power stage of a counter-unmanned-aircraft system: an RF amplifier generating controlled broadband interference over a defined band, degrading a drone's command link, video downlink or GNSS reception as part of a detect-then-defeat workflow.

Why is the 6.7-6.9 GHz band now on every requirement list?

As 5.8 GHz countermeasures proliferated, recent HD FPV platforms migrated video links into the C6 band (6700-6900 MHz, Wi-Fi 6E spectrum). Systems without C6 coverage can be bypassed by 2024-generation aircraft; our 100 W C6 module closes that gap.

Can the modules be customized?

Yes — sweep speed, modulation source (internal noise generator, VCO, DDS, SDR), protocol-specific waveforms and mechanical interfaces. Engineering reviews each customization request before quoting.

Is it legal to buy a drone jammer module?

RF countermeasure devices are restricted items in most jurisdictions, generally limited to licensed state entities, and their cross-border shipment requires export authorization from the country of origin. We sell exclusively through a verified licensed channel and document every transfer.

What documentation do I receive with an order?

Datasheet (electrical + mechanical), test report per batch, export license supporting documents, end-user certificate forms, and integration guidelines. Available samples on request for qualified programs.
